Dum de-dum

Been a odd 10 days. New plans launched at T-Mobile this past Sunday, MUCH IMPROVED! And the whole European contract or no contract thing has been long over due here in the states! Sadly traffic hasn’t improved since the launch (in my store at least), but it is mostly word-of-mouth for now. Ah well, such is life. Both mine and Amiee’s laptops went down this week. So we are without a computer at home for now. 😦 My user login got corrupted and Amiee’s suffered from an epic fail. On a fun note, we found Boo a bumblebee costume! Now he’s Bumble-Boo! And since I’m without a computer right now I’ve tried posting a picture through my wordpress app (as I’m sure you can tell). Enjoy, I’ll post some better pictures soon! And by soon I mean quicker than I’ve posting updates on here lately! 🙂

Been too long!

October 19, 2009

Yup, about a week. Man, I cannot let myself get lazy about this! I let it go too long and I probably won’t start again. Gotta do better! In my defense though, I’ve been being beat down by my sinuses.

Had a couple of birthdays the last few days. First was Amiee’s (my wife) yesterday and then Mary’s (my sister) today. I got tickets for Amiee and I to Cirque Du Soleil. I loved seeing her face light up when she saw what the tickets were for! I’m pretty psyched to see it next month too! I haven’t sent a gift up for Mary yet, but I have some ideas. And I also need to get something for my youngest brother, whose birthday is tomorrow. And including my Dad’s birthday on 10/11, Megan’s (Amiee’s sister) on 10/9, and Amiee’s Mom’s on 10/30 it makes for one nutty month for birthdays!

Had that meeting that I mentioned in my last post today. I’m REALLY excited about what we went over! It includes:
-stuff
-things
That’s all I can say for now! More details to come! But, as a teaser, let’s just say it’s somethings I’ve been wanting to see in the cellular market for a long time!

Amiee and I were looking at some old pictures of Boo last night. It is ASTOUNDING how much he has grown! When we first brought him home he took up less than half his pillow, now he sprawls on it completely covering it without trying! Even the trainer was shocked at how much he’s grown when she saw him! I will post comparison pictures soon. Well, as soon as I work out a computer problem I’m having right now. And when we were at Petsmart today we tried a lion costume on Boo, it was adorable!

And as a final note just got off the phone with my awesome brother Tom! We don’t talk enough anymore, but it always makes my day to hear from Tom!

Um…… how’d that happen?

October 12, 2009

Wow. So, yeah. Those pictures posted ALOT bigger than I thought they would. I tried shrinking them and it only let me take it down to 60% (those are shrunk, kinda scary. Right?). So, I guess I’ll just keep posting pictures through my computer for now. Oh well.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention this in yesterday’s post, I love Farmville! Amiee had me start a game which got her a new ribbon and I found I seriously dig this game! It’s a Facebook flash game where all the player does is run a farm. Plow, plant, harvest, get animals, harvest what they give you, build a homestead and sell what you harvest for money. It may sound like alot, but the game makes it fun and actions are just 1-click of the mouse. I never would have thought I’d be into a game like this but I can’t get enough! I can’t wait till Android gets flash and then a farmville app! So, any of my readers who are also my Facebook friends, make a farm and send me a neighbor request!

YAY, APP UPDATES!

Wow, this week has been astoundingly ordinary. A couple of small things happened but that’s it. First my WordPress app got an update (hence the title). Not a big update, but big enough to excite me, though that’s not generally difficult. I can now …… POST PICTURES THROUGH THE APP! DUM-DA-DA DUM! I know, not all that big. But hey, sometimes it’s the little things that make life awesomer! And to celebrate, enjoy the pictures posted below (including 1 of my niece Ainsley!). The second thing this week is actually just some rumors I’ve been hearing. There’s rumors floating around the interwebs about T-Mobile’s “Project: Dark” (or Project Black, or Project who-the-heck-knows). No one’s knows what it is, and no one in the know is saying anything (due to alleged confidentiality agreements). No, I don’t know what it is either. The rumors say that it’s not a phone or a plan but a combination of several things. Well, we’re getting a uniform change soon, there’s a big hush-hush meeting for the managers and some training soon after that. I guess/hope I’ll know soon enough! Well, that’s about it for right now.

Geekin’ out

October 7, 2009

First off, a bit of information regarding my last post. The concert was great! I always enjoy Chris Branch’s music and sitting with my wife and good friends only makes it better! He has a myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/christopherbranch Enjoy!

I always enjoy showing off how much of a geek/dork I am! The new update for android, called Donut, installed on my phone just recently. And I am loving it! The update included:

  • a speeded up load time for the camera and camcorder, by about 40% or so (which, by the way, is HUGE!)
  • improvements to android market in almost every way including searches and appearance
  • gave android a translator app (well, donut didn’t but it was needed for the app to work properly)
  • allows the search function to perform searches both for online content and phone content
  • and many other improvements

After having the update for a couple of days now I’ve only found one issue, and even then not a huge one. Using the voice search to find a contact and make a call at the same time (“Call Amiee mobile” for instance) works ok, but only ok. I’ve found it works better if I voice-search for the contact and then select it to make the call. Now the wait for the elusive 2.0 update (éclair) begins! Can’t wait, here comes flash support! 😀 Hey, speaking of android! I’m thinking of downloading the developer kit and writing an app. The kit is free and the OS is open sourced, so why not? Could be fun! Then again, the guy who knows nothing about writing programs is gonna do this. This may end in tears, probably mine.

Just found the oddest thing online. XSeed, a video game producer, just released a Wizard of OZ RPG. I know, weird, right? And weirder still it was rated well! An 8 out of 10 from IGN. Seeing that put my left eye brow squarely half way up my forehead!

Picked up some Boo-Berry and Frankin-berry from Walmart on Sunday. That stuff is awesome! Wasn’t as big a fan of Count Chocula. But, hey, that’s just me. I used to love getting that stuff when I was younger, haven’t had it in years! It’s still only released around Halloween, which makes it better. “Absence makes the heart grow fonder” and all. Ah, the flavors of nostalgia. Which are strawberry and blueberry apparently.

Friday

October 2, 2009

It’s Friday.
I’m at work.
It’s 4:20 and I’m off at 6.
Excited for work to end! Not just because, well, it’s work. But also because Amiee and I are going to a restaurant called the Islander to see our friend Chris Branch play. We love to hear Chris play, he’s an awesome musician! All my readers in the SC upstate, the Islander in Pendleton at 9pm! Be there, or…….. well, don’t.

May be getting that phone I was raving about in my 1st post! I’m not count it as a sure thing till I’m holding it in my hand though, I’ve gotten over excited about things like that only to be let down. So, we’ll see!

Yeah, so, you know how puppies like to chew on/eat things? Boo does too (duh, he’s a puppy himself). He got upstairs last night, and probably guess what he did in our bedroom. Not fun to clean-up. But he’s too goofy to stay mad at for long. Especially with that bald spot on his shoulder (he got shaved there so we can treat his fire-ant bites).
